Personal note

The visual medium enthrals me like no other. Specifically I have a passion for design, animation, film and games. I find they are perfect blend of technical and creative skills. I started playing with computers in 1980 with the Apple II. Lots of gaming and some programming transpired all the way through my Vic 20, C-64 and Atari ST.

My design interest started on the Amiga in 1991, teaching myself the basics. Initially working as a freelancer in 1993, I then started full time work and have not looked back since. I really enjoy working in a team and have been fortunate to have worked with some really talented and engaging people.

I have created work in areas of motion graphics design, technical animation, compositing, visual effects, set/environments and character animation amongst others. I am a specialist in a wide variety of areas, with a working knowledge and interest of production fields outside of broadcast design.

Over the last decade, I have had an increasing interest in open source design tools. Apart from experimenting in my on capacity, I have successfully integrated open source tools into’s tool chain after getting Board approval.

Education has also become a passion of mine. I have run Blender workshops at schools and at work. I am constantly analysing the best methods to pass knowledge on in informal and formal environments.
